Unilever Nigeria Reports ₦29.2bn Profit, Announces ₦2.00 Interim Dividend for H1 2026
Unilever Nigeria Plc has released its unaudited financial results for the first half of 2026, demonstrating strong top-line performance and improved operational efficiency.
Driven by broad revenue growth across its key business segments and enhanced operating leverage, the consumer goods manufacturer saw its revenue increase by 22.2% year-on-year to N119.92 billion, up from N98.10 billion in H1 2025.
This robust top-line performance expanded profitability across the board. While the cost of sales grew 16.4% to N65.2 billion, gross profit rose 30.0% to N54.7 billion. Operating profit surged by 72.8% to N42.1 billion, helping push pre-tax profit up 20.79% to N29.2 billion compared to N24.154 billion recorded in H1 2025. Consequently, profit after tax climbed to N15.597 billion from N14.51 billion, with earnings per share rising from N2.51 to N2.72.
Rewarding its investors, Unilever Nigeria proposed an interim dividend of N2.00 per ordinary share, subject to withholding tax. Shareholders qualifying as of 31 July 2026 will receive payment on 14 August 2026.
Regarding its balance sheet, total assets contracted slightly by 1.6% to N177.2 billion, accompanied by a 12.3% decline in cash and cash equivalents to N97.2 billion.
Total equity dipped 3.1% to N104.4 billion, while total liabilities edged up 0.2% to N72.9 billion, even as loans and borrowings dropped 2.2% to N2.1 billion.
